The User ID is the identification you use to sign into the SCM and/or your Learning Management System (LMS). The SCM uses this identification to store your course results and synchronize your course results with the LMS.
Creating a New User
If you attempt to sign in using a User ID that has not been used in the SCM, you are prompted to create the new user.
The following prompt appears: User name does not yet exist on this system. Create new user?
Blank User ID
If you do not enter a user ID, you will be logged in as the default user. This can only occur if:
Note: If you are using Skillport or an LMS, you must always use the same User ID you use in the LMS when you sign in to the SCM. If you enter a different user ID or no user ID, your results are saved on your workstation under that ID, but you will not be able to synchronize your results with your user ID in the LMS.
Switching User IDs
After you sign into the SCM, you can select the Student Button and sign in as a different user ID without having to exit and restart the SCM.
SCM Support for More Than One User
The SCM is capable of storing course results for multiple users on the same workstation. The results on the Progress tab are shown for the currently signed in user. However, the content on the Play tab is shared by all users on the workstation and should not be removed unless all users are finished with the content.
SCM Sign In Validation
Depending on your SCM configuration you may be prevented from signing on with a User ID other than your LMS User ID. This feature may be enabled by your learning administrator to assist you in storing your results so they can be synchronized with the LMS or Skillport.
