Subject Matter Expert (SME) Management

A Subject Matter Expert (SME) is an individual who possesses specialized knowledge, expertise, and proficiency in a particular field, topic, or subject area. SMEs are often sought after for decision-making, problem-solving, or providing guidance within their particular area of expertise. SMEs must have a Percipio user account.

If you have the Question and Answer (Q&A) feature turned on, learners can post questions on the Q&A tab for Skillsoft courses. If you have the Allow AI to answer questions posted in the Q&A tab of Skillsoft courses feature turned on, Skillsoft AI automatically answers questions posted by learners.

Subject matter experts (SME) that site admins designate can review and monitor Q&A activity for their assigned subjects and channels. SME's are responsible for:

  • Answering a question asked by a learner
  • Removing entries that are reported as inappropriate
  • Dismissing reported entries that are not inappropriate
  • Validating entries provided by AI
