Percipio Oracle Learning Cloud Integration

Overview

The Oracle Learning Cloud connector was developed by Skillsoft in partnership with Oracle. The connector is available to all Oracle Learning Cloud customers.

The connector allows you to integrate licensed Skillsoft content with Oracle Learning Cloud. In the second half of 2024, the connector will also allow you to integrate Skillsoft compliance content.

The connector allows customers to launch Skillsoft non-compliance content both from Percipio and from Oracle Learning Cloud in addition to other platforms or integrations in their learning ecosystem.

Connector for non-compliance content

The connector delivers three primary functions:

You can get additional information on all these topics from the Frequently Asked Questions and Requirements pages. For information on how to implement, see Configure Oracle Learning Cloud for Skillsoft Content.

How it works

The diagram below represents both the flow from Oracle Learning Cloud to Percipio and the flow of data from Percipio to Oracle Learning Cloud.

Automated content management

This is how Oracle Learning Cloud is made aware of the Skillsoft non-compliance content that is available. Skillsoft pushes content metadata to Oracle Learning Cloud-leveraging Oracle built APIs. Oracle Learning Cloud then uses that metadata to create, update, or remove each Skillsoft non-compliance content item within its catalog. Each Skillsoft content item uses a Percipio share link. When your learners launch a Skillsoft content item from Oracle Learning Cloud, the content launches within your Percipio site.

Content launch and consumption

When learners launch a Skillsoft content item from Oracle Learning Cloud, the item opens automatically in Percipio without a learner having to log into Percipio. This seamless experience uses SAML Single Sign-On. In addition, learners can also access Percipio directly. Any content that learners access directly in Percipio is still recorded in Oracle Learning Cloud.

Learner completion tracking

This is how we ensure that Oracle Learning Cloud has a record for each learner for each Skillsoft content item they accessed. Percipio records all accesses, whether the learner follows an item's link from Oracle Learning Cloud or accesses an item directly in Percipio. Percipio calls a specific Oracle Learning Cloud xAPI to send the tracking information and completion data in near real-time fashion. .

Connector for compliance content - coming second half of 2024

The connector delivers three primary functions:

You can get additional information on all these topics from the Frequently Asked Questions and Requirements pages. For information on how to implement, see Configure Oracle Learning Cloud for Skillsoft Content.

Automated content management

This is how Oracle Learning Cloud is made aware of the Skillsoft compliance content that is available. Skillsoft generates an Oracle Learning Cloud-formatted item data connector file to deliver the content metadata information. Oracle Learning Cloud then uses that metadata to create, update, or remove each Skillsoft compliance content item within its catalog. Each Skillsoft content item uses an AICC launch URL. When your learners launch a Skillsoft compliance content item from Oracle Learning Cloud, the content launches directly into your compliance course.

Content launch and consumption

When learners launch a Skillsoft compliance course from Oracle Learning Cloud, the course opens automatically. This seamless experience uses AICC launch standards.

Learner completion tracking

This is how we ensure that Oracle Learning Cloud has a record for each learner for each Skillsoft compliance content item they accessed. Percipio uses AICC standards to send tracking information back to Oracle Learning Cloud.
