Common Tabs and Text Fields in Course Components

Common Tabs

There are two tabs common to many of the course components:

Notes tab: The Notes tab is a blank text field to input internal notes. Learners do not see notes.
Certification tab: You can only use the Certification tab to edit existing certifications in IT courses.

Common Text Fields

Below is a listing of text fields common to many of the course components:

Lesson ID: You cannot edit the Lesson ID field because it is auto-generated in SkillStudio. For more information about the numbering system in SkillStudio, see Course Component IDs.
Lesson Title: Edit this on the Lesson Overview component.
Topic ID: You cannot edit the Topic ID field because it is auto-generated in SkillStudio. For more information about the numbering system in SkillStudio, see Course Component IDs.
Topic Title Drop-down Menu: Edit this in the Topic component.
Topic Title: Edit this in the Topic component.
Learning Point Title: Enter the learning point title in the Learning Points component.
Est. Duration (minutes): Choose 5, 10, 15, 20, or 25 minutes to reflect the estimated time it takes the average learner to complete. When selecting the estimated duration, choose the closest number of minutes available in the Est. Duration drop-down menu. For example, if the approximate duration is 2 minutes, select 5 minutes from the drop-down menu.
Approx. Duration (minutes): Enter an approximate duration based on word count duration calculations. This is used in the course approximate (published) duration value.
General Remarks: Enter general remarks to the learner.
Topic Source Material: Enter source material used in creating the course.
Keywords: Keywords are searchable in the SEARCH&LEARN feature of Skillport. They can be used to locate course offerings by keywords as opposed to the specific course titles.
Note: Keywords entered here are used to aid search functionality within Skillport, and are not related to keywords that are used to generate the Course Index.
