Course Component IDs

Various course components (with the exception of objectives and learning points) are assigned IDs according to the order they are added to the tree. Each component has an associated letter; the number added to the ID reflects the component's place on the tree. In the following example, T2 is the first topic in the lesson, but the second component added to the course tree:

• Course Overview ID (not shown) - Course Overview topics are used primarily in Business Skills content. The Course Overview topic ID begins with the letters CO and a number. Course Overviews are optional.
• Lesson Overview ID (not shown) - Lesson Overview topics are also used primarily in Business Skills content. SkillStudio assigns each Lesson Overview a unique ID when added to a course. This ID always begins with the letters LO and a number. Lesson Overviews are optional.
• Page ID - Each topic in SkillStudio has at least one associated page (a template) in which users create course content. When users add a page to the course, a unique ID is automatically assigned to it. The page ID always begins with the letter P and a number, followed by the template type (for example, P45 - Expos).
• Cut, Copy, and Paste Lessons and Topics - Lessons and topics do not retain their unique IDs if cut, copied, or pasted. The pasted topic or lesson will be assigned the next sequential number when pasted back into the tree. SkillStudio treats the pasted lesson or topic as a new component when assigning the unique ID.
• Cut, Copy, and Paste Pages - Pages do not retain their unique IDs if cut, copied, or pasted. A pasted page is assigned the next sequential number when pasted back into the tree.
