Use the General Information tab to enter information about the course. Data entered in this tab is used on the summary page of a published course in the SkillSoft Course Player.
Course ID: The Course ID is a non-editable region that contains a series of numbers and letters determined at the time of course creation. See Customized Course ID for more information.
Course Title: The name of the current course (for example, Management in the 21st Century). The default value is New Course.
Mentored check box: A course must be built within a learning path in order to set this checkbox; courses created outside of a learning path do not have this option available to them (the Mentored checkbox will show as unavailable).
Note:This cannot be set at the course level; you must set it at the learning path level.
508 Compliant check box: Check this box to designate whether or not a course is 508 compliant.
Note: Checking this box does not make the course 508 compliant, it only designates whether or not the course is already 508 compliant.
WCAG 2.0 AA Compliant: Check this box to designate whether or not a course is WCAG 2.0 AA compliant.
Course Description: A basic description of the course content that appears on the About this Course page in the the course resources section.
Course Goal: A general description of the high-level goals of the course. This description appears at the top of the Course Menu page in the player.
Course Source Material: Outside resources, such as web pages or books, used to enhance a learner's experience with the course. This is required to plan and write the course, and is not published with the course.
Target Audience: A description of the characteristics of the course's intended audience, such as management or professional level, that appears on the About this Course page in the the course resources section.
Prerequisites: Courses the learner must take or information they should know prior to starting the course.
Keywords: Learners can search for courses in Skillport by entering keywords in the SEARCH&LEARN panel, helping them easily locate courses containing those words or terms. Use this Keyword field to enter those keywords, enabling your learners to quickly find your course in the course library.
Note: These keywords are only used to enable searching for courses in Skillport, and are not part of the keyword list that is used to generate the Course Index.
