1. Open the application.
2. Select File > New > Course, or press CTRL+N.

   The Course Type window appears.

3. Select the course type you want to create.
4. Click OK.

   The Add Course ID window appears.

5. Enter the course ID. If you want to save the course to a location other than the default, click Browse to locate a new folder.
6. Click OK.

   The new course appears in the course tree pane.

Note: The audio format automatically defaults to Speex (.spx).

Note: After your course is created, build the course structure in the course tree pane. Using the Add or right-click menu, you can add components such as lessons, topics, objectives, and pages to your course.

The New Course Wizard walks you through the course creation process, helping you complete the following fields prior to building the course tree:

• Course Title
• Course Description
• Course Goals
• Course Prerequisites
• Target Audience
• Target Release Date
• Estimated Duration
• Course ID

Note: For more information about these fields, see the General Tab.

It also gives you the opportunity to add lessons and topics. If you choose to use the wizard for lessons and topics, you are presented with the following fields to complete:

• Lesson Title
• Topic Title
• Additional lessons and topics

Access the New Course Wizard

1. Click File | New | Open Course Wizard.

   The New Course Wizard opens.

   

2. Follow the directions on the screen to enter information in the various fields, aiding you with the initial course creation process.
