Engagement

Once you have completed all your onboarding steps, it is time to start learning. You are now in the Engagement part of your coaching experience. You spend most of your time on the Coaching platform in Engagement. In general, engagement takes up about two-thirds of your coaching experience. It is when you develop goals and work with your coach to achieve them.

During engagement you do the following:

Schedule Meetings with Your Coach

Once you are paired with a coach, you can start scheduling meetings.

  1. On the home page, in the Next Session tile is a field to Schedule next session. The tile shows times that your coach has available.
  2. Select one of these times or choose Select a different session time to open the Schedule your session page. Here, you see a calendar with dates that your coach has available.
  3. Select a specific day to see a list of available times for that day.
  4. Choose times that work with your schedule.
  5. Schedule more than one coaching session by continuing to select days and times that work for you. It is recommended that you schedule your coaching sessions every other week.
  6. Once you pick all of the sessions that you wish to schedule, select Yes, schedule sessions. These session times now display in your Session Calendar.

Reschedule a Session

If you need to reschedule a coaching session at any point, you can, as long as it is more than 24 hours before the time of the session.

To reschedule a session:

  1. Cancel the session which will return to your available sessions counter. For example, if you had 8 remaining sessions to schedule, but you canceled one, you now have 9 remaining sessions to schedule.
  2. Schedule a new session at a different time.

If you cancel within 24 hours, you cannot reschedule, and you lose that session.

View Your Assessment Results

After you schedule your first coaching session, a new item called View assessment results displays on your To-Do list.

Select Begin to see your Assessment results which shows the data from your Leadership assessment, Engagement survey, and from your colleagues 360° feedback.

Your managers' feedback displays on this page as soon as they have completed the 360° feedback assessment. Your other colleagues' feedback displays on this page when the Request 360° feedback step is closed. This step closes when the minimum number of people have responded to your 360° and any other pending invites have been removed.

Select Focus Areas

After your first session with your coach, you need to select focus areas to work on during your remaining coaching sessions.

To select focus areas:

  1. From your To-Do list, find Select focus areas, and select Begin.

  2. If your organization has chosen skills for all learners to work on, they display under Set by your organization. Review these skills.

  3. Below this is a section where you select your own focus areas. The skills in this section are the same as the ones you rated during your Leadership assessment, and that you reviewed in the Assessment results. Based on those results, the platform recommends skills for you to work on, but you may choose whichever you think are most valuable. By default, you can select up to eight focus areas, however, this number may differ depending on the settings configured by your organization.

  4. Select Save.

If you are struggling to decide on focus areas, your coach can help you during your second session. You can change your focus areas at any time from the Focus areas page which can be accessed from the left navigation bar. Once you begin the remeasurement phase, you are no longer able to edit your focus areas.

Set Your Coaching Plan

Create a coaching plan so that you can track your progress throughout your engagement. To create a coaching plan:

  1. After your first session, Create your coaching plan becomes available on your To-Do list.

  2. Select Open to view the Coaching plan page.

  3. Write out your professional vision and up to three actionable goals that you and your coach can later refine to ensure your coaching engagement is directly tailored to you. If you are struggling to come up with goals, your coach can help you during your second session.

View Shared Resources

When your coach shares a resource with you it displays as an item on your To-Do list.

When you View this item, it may open in Percipio if it is Percipio content, or another website or platform. In order for your coach to see that you completed that content, you must select Mark as Complete when you are done.

A resource stays on your To-Do list until you mark it as complete so you can easily find it again after you open it. When you complete a resource you are prompted to rate how useful you found it. This information is shared with your coach so that they can discuss this with you and find better ways to tailor coaching to you if needed.

To find a resource after you mark it as complete, open the Resources page from the left navigation bar and locate the resource you are looking for from the list.
