New Features and Enhancements as of February 10, 2023

Learners taking Skill Benchmarks will soon see 5 skill levels instead of 3. The numeric score achieved does not change, but the level where the score falls may change. We refined the skill level scale to include 5 levels so admins have a more precise grouping of learners' scores and can better calibrate learning programs to the needs of the business.

The new levels and ranges are:

• Novice (0-9 points): The new calibration of Novice identifies learners who demonstrate no familiarity with the topics critical for the skill.
• Aspiring (10-49 points): This new level identifies learners who demonstrate minimal capabilities for a specific skill and need a significant learning investment to achieve proficiency.
• Developing (50-69 points): The new calibration of Developing identifies learners who demonstrate some proficiency with a specific skill and only need to close a few knowledge gaps to achieve proficiency.
• Proficient (70-89 points): The new calibration of Proficiency identifies learners who demonstrate a level of capability with the skill that indicates they are ready to start applying the skill to practical challenges in their work. We recommend that learners intending to practice a skill achieve Proficiency in the appropriate benchmark for that skill.
• Advanced (90-100 points): This new level identifies learners who demonstrate a thorough understanding of the skill and may be candidates to mentor other learners within your organization.

On the home page, under the Guide me tab in the My Learning section, learners now see a new option called I want to learn to code. When selected, the learner sees Codecademy languages or programming languages depending on the content they are entitled to access.

This release contains the following updates for localized closed captions:

• Increased the number of available languages from 15 to 38.
• When learners submit caption feedback, the language they are submitting feedback on is now automatically detected and only two questions display.

After a learner selects to Learn more and register for a live course, Percipio shows only class dates and times that are available for registration. Learners can opt to see full and canceled classes by turning on the Show Unavailable switch.

If you choose to send an email reminder for an assignment and that assignment is past due for that learner, the learner now sees a different email than if the assignment is coming due.

Learners now see the option My Achievements under their profile menu instead of Achievements. This change aligns to what the learner sees in the mobile app.

Two updates to the search filters include:

• For all initial filter displays, you now only see 10 values before the Show More link. This allows more of the filter list to be visible on the screen before scrolling.

  

• The Content Source filter now contains values for Harvard Business Publishing and Harvard ManageMentor Spark when content by these providers is present in search results.

If populated with data, both the Middle Initial and Suffix user attributes display on certificates of completion helping learners to distinguish themselves from others with similar names. If a learner's middle initial or suffix is updated or removed from their account in the future, these changes will be reflected on any certificates issued in the future.

If the Middle Initial attribute is populated, you now see it in the Name column of the User list page. It shows in the format of Last name, First name Middle initial (for example, Doe, John J.)

When compliance learners launch Skillsoft's new video-based courses, they see a new course player that offers several user experience improvements over the old player. The new player is released with an updated VPAT to reflect the changes to the interface and experience. Learners still see the old player for legacy Skillsoft compliance courses and custom courses.
