Select Folders

The Download Asset Metadata >> Select Folders page available from the Select Folders menu option, allows you to add Catalog Folders from any Browse View to your future asset metadata downloads. The browse view folders displayed are based on your organization’s entitled content. If your Skillport administrator has designated an ‘olsa_scoping_user’, it is ignored and all browse view folders display.

When you select a folder for download, a Referral Object (RO) for that folder is included in the download. When a learner launches a Folder RO, Skillport opens in either Books Limited or Full Skillport mode and the learner is given access to all assets within the folder.

Metadata for selected folders is added to the download when used with the All Metadata or Updated Metadata options available on the Download Asset Metadata page accessible from the Download menu option. Additionally, if your metadata is downloaded automatically, selected folders will be included in future All Metadata asset feeds, and newly selected folders will be included in the next Updated Metadata feed.  Selected folders will also be delivered by the asset metadata web service processes.

You can also use the Download Asset Metadata >> Select Folders page to remove folders from manually generated downloads and from future All or Update metadata downloads.

The Select Folders... dialog keeps track of all added folders. Each time you access the dialog, all previously selected folders will be checked. You can add more folders by selecting them, and you can remove folders from future downloads by unchecking them.

To select or remove folders from metadata downloads

  1. Log in to your OLSA Admin.
  2. In the menu on the left, click Download Asset Metadata.
  3. Click Select Folders from the expanded menu.
  4. The Download Asset Metadata >> Select Folders page opens in the OLSA Admin.
  5. Select either Books Limited Mode or Full Skillport Mode.
  6. In the Select Catalog Folders window, select, or uncheck one or more folders.
  7. Click Save.

Note: If you uncheck previously checked folders, they will be removed from future metadata downloads, and will be marked as "unentitled" in the _ss_entitlement_status.xml file.
