Audit a Course

The Audit dialog box contains various features to highlight any errors or warnings that need attention prior to publishing a course.

Drop-down Menus

• Scope: Entire Course (all pages); Current Object (selected component); Current Object and Children (selected component and subsequent child pages).
• Audit: All Audits (both Writing and Graphics tabs); Writing tab; Graphics tab

Check boxes

• Find double space errors?: Displays double space errors.
• Localization: Localization audit functionality. Deselected by default. When selected, localization reserve warnings are not reported in the audit dialog box or audit report and some audits will be raised to a critical level. Select this option unless you plan to clone a course into another language.

Audit Results

• Description: The description of the error or warning
• Topic: The topic where the error is located
• Location: The page ID of the error
• Level: Error, Warning or Critical
• Category: Categories include:
  • Audio
  • Course Level Error
  • File Error
  • Graphic Animations
  • Graphics
  • Internal
  • Learning Point Error
  • Lesson Level Error
  • Localization Overrun
  • Text Overrun
  • Topic Level Error
  • Writing

Hide Check Boxes

• Warning: Hides all warnings
• Error: Hides all errors
• Critical: Hides all critical issues

Buttons

• Audit: Runs the audit
• Display: Displays the selected page
• Log Audit: Logs the audit and saves it as an .xml file to the following default location: C:\SkillSoft\SkillStudio\logs\Audit_<course_name>.xml
• Report: Creates an HTML report of the audit
• Clear: Clears the results
• Close: Closes the audit dialog box
