Working with Learning Assets

Learning assets are the content material that make up the presentation. They are usually created outside Dialogue Design and then imported in whole or in part. Once added to a presentation, content can be reordered, and overlaid with sound. You can also import existing Dialogue Design Presentations (.prs and .mprs files) into another Dialogue presentation of the same type.

Note: You can only import mobile files (.mprs) into another mobile presentation. You cannot import them into a .prs file.

Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel content and tests and polls can be edited. Adobe PDF, Adobe Flash, and Resource Site content cannot be edited.

Notes: HTML files cannot be directly imported into Dialogue Design. However, you can add content from HTML files in any of the following ways.

• Use Print Screen to capture an HTML page and then use Edit->Paste to paste an image of the HTML page. However, this will capture only the area visible on the screen. If the HTML page requires scrolling, you will have to scroll and repeat the steps to capture content at the bottom of the page.
• Use the Dialogue Recorder to record content from HTML pages. This will capture scrolling within an HTML page as well as navigation between pages.
• Convert HTML files to Microsoft Word documents and then import the converted document as a Word asset.
