New Features and Enhancements as of August 8, 2024
Engaging your learners to build a learning culture
The items in this section provide ways to engage your users so they want to learn and make learning a habit.
We are sorry to share that the rollout of the AI Assistant feature, initially targeted for launch on August 4, has been delayed. Our recent testing indicated a need for improvements to meet our quality expectations and requirements.
To help with improvements, we will be releasing a new switch over the next week that will allow the AI Assistant to respond using the full capability of ChatGPT if it first can’t find a response within Skillsoft’s guardrails. This setting will be on by default, but you can turn it off prior to AI Assistant going live if you want to limit the responses. You will be able to see this switch on the AI Settings tab when it goes live.
We are committed to delivering the best possible solution and appreciate your patience as we make these enhancements.
To help learners more easily find the left navigation when it is closed, learners now see an expand arrow where the menu would be. Selecting the expand arrow unhides the left navigation.
The hamburger menu will only show if the learner shrinks the desktop window to a narrow width. Selecting the hamburger menu opens the left navigation.
Manage, promote, and measure learning
The items in this section provide the tools you need to manage users and content, promote learning, and measure learning effectiveness on your bottom line.
This release contains the following enhancements to the Emails campaign feature:
- Analytics now available: You can now access detailed analytics for your email campaigns directly from the campaign menu. This new feature provides insights on total emails sent, average open rates, average click rates, day-wise trends, and specific click counts for different links within the email. This enhancement helps you better understand the impact of your email campaigns and make data-driven decisions.
- Ability to personalize to a user: You can now personalize email campaigns by adding variable codes for the recipient's first name, last name, and login name. These codes will automatically be replaced with the corresponding values when the email is sent, enhancing the customization and relevance of communications.
- Email campaigns is now a permission for admin roles: You can now grant permissions for other roles such as learning admins and managers to access the Email Campaign page. Do this from Site Settings > Role Customization.
- Updates to campaign visibility: Site admins and domain admins have visibility into all email campaigns created within the organization. Other scoped admin roles such as learning admins and manager only see the email campaigns they have personally created.
- Scoped admins only see their audiences and users: When scoped admins such as learning admins and managers create an email campaign, they can only send to users and audiences that they own.
For more information about email campaigns, see Email campaigns.
These new settings allow you to set whether learners see a pop-up message when they access content that is retiring soon or has a new version available. This enhancement aims to reduce learner confusion and streamline the learning experience. With this update, you can:
- Disable New version available messages for archived courses with updated versions.
- Disable Retiring soon messages for courses set to retire within the next 90 days.
These settings are found under Site Configuration > Content Settings and are enabled by default.
From the License pool page, you now have the ability to download the license pool distributions across all child sites in one CSV file. This gives you the ability to easily track all sites, their license distribution, and consumption in one place.
To access, go to Content > License Pools, then select Download License Pool list.
Whether you're downloading directly as a CSV or uploading to an SFTP server, the report template name is now included as part of the file name for scheduled reports. The file name format will now include the template name, and both the date and time of the last data refresh, and the schedule time, to ensure clear differentiation of which report it is. This enhancement will help keep your data organized and reduce confusion, making your workflow smoother and more efficient.
For more information, see File naming conventions for downloaded reports.
You can now view course codes on the Manage Hidden Content list for easier content review. The Course Code column is not visible by default but can be enabled through the columns selector.
Compliance, Ecosystems, and Integrations
The items in this section help you to integrate Percipio across your learning ecosystem and promote how Skillsoft works with its partners.
Authors can now adjust the minimum score required to pass an assessment in Certitude. This feature allows greater control over the completion criteria for Certitude assessments.
When authoring an assessment, the Details tab now includes a numeric field for Score needed, which defaults to 70 if not previously set. This field is required. Additionally, the passing score is included in the AICC file when downloaded. For learners, the passing score is enforced when they take the assessment.
Usability Enhancements
The items in this section show where we are making improvements to the interface for a better experience.
When users access the Ask a Mentor features, they find a new interface that is easier to use and more engaging. This is true for both Percipio users and those who access content through another LMS.
