LX Design Studio Overview

LX Design Studio is a content creation platform featuring a suite of AI-driven apps and tools that allows you to easily design custom content tailored to your organization's policies, programs, and skills. You can create conversation and presentation simulations, as well as assessments that can all be published as content to your Percipio site. You can quick publish content which makes it immediately available to learners via search, or publish it so that it is only visible to administrators and must be curated into channels or journeys to make it visible to learners. After you publish to Percipio, you can assign your simulations and assessments to specific audiences, add them to learning programs, add them to the library to be discovered, and track your learners' progress through them.

If you have access to LX Design Studio, you can publish up to one terabyte of content to Percipio for your learners to experience.

In LX Design Studio, you can create the following types of content:

  • CAISY for Conversations: These are simulations that allow learners to practice having real-world conversations in a safe, low-stakes environment.
  • CAISY for Presentations: These are simulations that allow learners to practice presenting a slide deck to an AI audience in order to improve their public speaking skills and get real-time feedback on their performance.
  • Assessments: These provide a great way for learners to assess their knowledge on certain concepts and receive dynamic feedback on how they can improve.

Home Page

When you open LX Design Studio from the 9-dot menu in Percipio, you land on the Home page. From the Home page, you can navigate to all areas of the platform.

On the Home page, you see the following areas:

  1. Language selector and profile:
    • Language selector: Choose the language that you want to create content in. You cannot change the language of a content item after you start.
    • Profile: From the Profile drop-down menu, you can access:
      • Archived Items: Published content cannot be permanently deleted, but can be archived. You can find archived content from the selected workspace here. From Archived items, you can restore content to an active status. You can also preview items if that item could be previewed prior to being archived.
      • Deleted Items: Draft content can be deleted to allow for content management. Once deleted, the draft items stay in Deleted Items for 30 days before being permanently deleted. You can restore deleted items within that 30 day window. You can preview items if that item could be previewed prior to being deleted.
      • Logout: Logout of your LX Design Studio platform.
  2. Workspaces: Use the drop-down at the top to toggle between your different workspaces. When you create content in a specific workspace, only people in that workspace who have been given access to that project can see what you created. You can only see content from projects and workspaces in which you are a member.
  3. The left navigation bar: From the left navigation bar, you can access the following:
    • Home: The Home page is where you land when you open LX Design Studio. It contains access to the Design Assistant and all the apps available to you.
    • Apps: This is the collection of apps available to you in LX Design Studio. Access an app to find all the content associated with that app or to create a new content item.
    • Projects: Projects serve as folders that allow you to organize your content. From this page you can create new projects, rename projects, and share projects with others.
    • Content Items: View all content items you have access to in the selected workspace. The list of items you see here are the result of content created in any of the apps. From this page you can move a content item to a different workspace or project. You can also edit, duplicate, or delete a content item and create a new one based on a specific app.
    • All conversations: See all conversations that you have had with your Design Assistant. This list of conversations shown here are those you started from the home page or by selecting Start a new chat from the left navigation. Each conversation results in a design brief which you can access by selecting the name of the conversation or the Edit option. You can pick up any conversation where you left off to add more details. Any changes you make to a design brief here do not impact any copies made when brought into an app.
    • Start a new chat: Start a new chat with your Design Assistant in order to easily get started on your next project.
  4. Design Assistant: To quickly get started on a project, type your ideas into the chat box on the home page. The Design Assistant asks you questions to determine your learning objectives and goals. It uses your responses to create a design brief and then recommends the app that is best suited to meet your content creation needs. You can view any conversation you have with the Design Assistant from the All conversations option in the left navigation.
  5. Applications: In this section, you see all applications available to you as part of LX Design Studio. Available options may include:
    • CAISY™ for Conversations: Select this tile on the Home page to access the CAISY for Conversations app. Here, you can create role-playing scenarios for learners to practice difficult conversations.
    • CAISY™ for Presentations: Select this tile on the Home page to access the CAISY for Presentations app. Here, you can create practice simulations for learners to present to realistic audiences in a safe space.
    • Assessment: Select this tile on the Home page to access the Assessment app. Here, you can create Skill Benchmarks to measure skill proficiency and identify skill gaps.
