New Features and Enhancements as of August 25, 2026
Foundational enhancements for all
The items in this section apply to all customers who have the Skillsoft Percipio Platform.
Learners and administrators can now see when the next occurrence of a recurring assignment is scheduled to start and when it is due. This information shows after the current cycle completes.
Admins can view this information from the Assignment Summary by User report from the Next Due Date column. This column is not visible by default.
Learners can view this information from their Assignment page. Each recurring assignment is now marked with an indicator so learners know it is recurring. After a learner completes the occurrence, they see the Next Assignment Start Date and Next Assignment Due Date on the completed card informing them when the next cycle begins and when it is due.
With this release, you can now choose how often managers receive the Overdue assignment digest email letting them know who on their team has an overdue assignment. You can choose to have the platform send it daily, weekly, fortnightly, or monthly.
The following enhancements are available for the document submission feature:
- Learners can now enter up to a 120-character comment after they submit their document allowing for additional context.
- Both learners and admins now have more flexibility when viewing a PDF submission. They can view:
- Page navigation with previous/next controls and page count, zoom controls, full-screen viewing, and document rotation.
- Submission metadata, including submitter, date, version, and status, along with a submission history panel that shows previous versions and actions.
- Version-level activity details, including updates and deletions with timestamps and user information. You can choose to show or hide the submission history panel to maximize viewing space
This release finds the following enhancements to the Journey Activity report:
-
Asset status column: This column now displays in both the Journey Activity and Journey Detailed Export reports. This gives you clearer visibility into the current status of each asset in a journey, including Started, Not Started, and Completed. This helps you better understand asset availability within a journey and make more informed decisions.
-
Export all journey detail: You can now export all data from the By Journey tab without manually expanding each journey first. When no journey is expanded, the export includes all per-user journey detail for every journey in the current filtered result set, helping you access completion percentage, user identity, and completion status at scale. If you expand one or more journeys, the export only contains those expanded journeys, allowing you to create a targeted subset when needed.
Coming soon, you will see three new content reports that make it easier to review and manage content across your site:
- All Content Library Export: This report will replace the All Content Listing report. In addition to the existing functionality, it will allow you to view videos and modules. This is only available for export because of the potential size of the report.
- All Content Listing by Title: This report contains a full list of all content on your site by title. For each content item you have more flexibility on filtering and can see more content metadata such as retirement information, first/last published dates, and last modified dates.
- All Content Listing by Container: The report will replace the Content Status report and improve how you identify the containers where content that is scheduled for retirement exists.
The existing Retired Content report will be updated with all content that has been retired. It will no longer just include accessed content from your site that has been retired.
As part of this enhancements, both the All Content Listing and Content Status report will be retired. Your existing schedules for these reports will continue to run even after retirement.
Skillsoft now offers five additional platform locales to help learners access the platform in their preferred language:
- French (Belgium) (fr-BE)
- Dutch (Belgium) (nl-BE)
- French (Switzerland) (fr-CH)
- German (Switzerland) (de-CH)
- Italian (Switzerland) (it-CH)
The platform interface, including navigation, menus, buttons, labels, and help text, displays in the selected language. For supported content, Unified Language Experience (ULE) can translate content on the fly when enabled for your site. If dialect fallback is enabled, learners using French (Belgium) or French (Switzerland) automatically fall back to French (France) when a locale-specific translation is unavailable.
This enhancement is available on the web platform, custom content creation workflows, CAISY, and the AI Assistant. Mobile support will be added in a future release.
Enhancements for features existing on your platform
If your Skillsoft Percipio platform currently has the features pertaining to the items listed in this section, you see the following enhancements in addition to the foundational enhancements.
If you enabled the custom AI policy for CAISY, learners now see this same policy when they access AI Assistant. They must select Agree and proceed before the AI Assistant opens. By default, the AI policy for AI Assistant only displays on the first launch. You can choose whether the policy displays only on the first launch or on every launch of AI Assistant.
You can configure the AI policy display options separately for CAISY and AI Assistant.
You can now use AI to translate your custom email templates into multiple languages, helping you deliver consistent, localized communications to learners at scale. To use AI to translate email templates, you must first turn on the AI Translation setting.
When you create or edit an email template, you can select to have it send in multiple languages. After you finish designing in the default language, select Translate with AI. For each language selected, AI translates all content contained in the default language template including the subject, pre-header, and email content.
After you initiate the AI translation, you see the status for each selected language on its tab. Translations may take up to a few hours to complete. You can save your work and continue with other tasks. You receive a Message Center notification when translations are complete.
This release finds the following updates to settings for the AI Assistant:
-
Prepare now: AI Memory: This new admin setting is currently visible only to administrators. The setting is on by default, but you can choose to turn it off before it goes live to learners later in September. With this setting, you can now choose whether the AI Assistant remembers helpful info from learners' past conversations to personalize future interactions. The new AI Memory setting is in Site settings > Site configuration > AI Settings. When on, the assistant will use prior conversation context for personalization; it will not store personal data like names or email addresses. When off, the assistant will not retain information between conversations.
-
Conversation history: This setting was previously called AI optimization and improvement. It still functions the same way, just the name changed to better reflect the function. When on, learners’ conversations with the AI Assistant are saved and can be accessed later from History. Learners can choose to stop saving their own conversation history at any time from their personal settings. When off, conversations are not saved and learners will not have access to previous conversations.
You can now configure Custom Live Course Attributes so they are visible to learners when they register, and to approvers when they review a request. Previously, the attributes were only available to admins. Existing attributes remain hidden, until you make them visible.
To make an attribute visible, go to Content > Live Course > Manage > Manage class attributes. Select the option Learners and approvers can view this attribute.
This gives you greater control over what information is shown during the registration and approval process and helps provide the right context to the people who need it.
You will soon be able to use the AI Assistant to run, download, and schedule analytics reports using natural language. The AI Assistant may help identify the appropriate report, apply supported filters, and return results without requiring manual report configuration.
With this enhancement to the AI Assistant, you can:
- Run analytics reports using natural language prompts.
- Download report results as CSV files.
- Schedule report delivery by email on a one-time, daily, weekly, or monthly basis.
Natural language filtering currently supports date ranges, audiences, users, and content titles. Report scheduling is available for Standard Reports and Skillsoft Template Reports; custom templates are not currently supported. AI Assistant does not currently return dashboards.
So we can continually improve, please submit feedback using the thumbs up/down icon in the response.
Additional enhancements for those with the full platform
The items in this section pertain to the fully licensed version of the Skillsoft Percipio Platform which includes LX Design Studio, AI Coach, and Page Builder. Customers with this level of access get these features and enhancements in addition to the ones above.
AI model updates
To keep your LX Design Studio experience current with the latest AI advancements, we are planning to update the AI conversation models that power LX Design Studio and all its apps (including Course Designer, CAISY for Conversations, CAISY for Presentations, and Assessments). This update will occur not less than 30 days from now.
Learners are not likely to notice any changes in how these features behave, but you benefit from improved security posture and a more robust, future-ready AI foundation across your learning ecosystem. If you need additional information about this planned update, please contact your Skillsoft account team.
General platform features
With this release, you now have access to an admin switch that allows you to enable AI-assisted journey creation. This switch is currently off by default to allow you the next 30 days to try it before we change the default setting to be on by default. Customers who have been beta testing the feature see the setting on by default.
AI assisted journey creation uses generative AI GPT models to help you build custom learning journeys. Instead of manually selecting and sequencing content, you provide answers to a set of prompts that guide you through the journey description, learner goals, target roles, milestones, preferred formats, duration, etc. At the end, the AI generates a tailored journey outline and recommends both Skillsoft and custom content. You review and approve the journey before publishing it to your production environment.
With AI-assisted journeys, you can reduce journey creation time by ~80%, lower admin costs by ~50%, and improve learner engagement by ~25% compared to manually curated journeys.
If you enabled AI Coach, you now see usage data on the Feature Usage report. This report provides aggregated data on learner engagement, so you can see how AI Coach is being used across your organization.
If enabled on your site, you can now access Advanced Analytics. With Advanced Analytics, you get more insight about your data and what actions your can take to mitigate risk. You can:
- Align skill data with your specific business strategy and produce actionable views that connect skill gaps to business risk.
- Ingest your proprietary data, such as HRIS performance ratings, manager assessments, custom competency models, and external certifications into the proficiency model and produce blended analytics.
- View trend lines and other analyses that goes beyond standard platform dashboards.
If you are interested in Advanced Analytics, please reach out to your Skillsoft account team.
LX Design Studio
You can now choose which LX Design Studio apps are available to your organization. This helps you align app availability with licensing, compliance, and business needs.
From your profile select Settings. Turn on or off each app for your organization. The change is immediate. All changes in app visibility are logged in the Change History/Audit Log. You also receive in-app and email notifications when an app is changed.
Course Designer
The new Template Manager allows you to create branded templates from scratch or import existing PowerPoint templates for use in the Course Designer so that the courses you create can all reflect a consistent brand for your company. With the Template manager, you have the following available:
- Create new templates from scratch: You can now build course templates from scratch within the platform. The new editor supports custom backgrounds, rich text styling, icons, and precise shape placement, giving you full control over the "look and feel" of your brand.
- Import PowerPoint templates: If you already have established designs, you can import existing pptx files. The platform now automatically extracts slides, generates thumbnails, and converts them into editable templates.
- Template suggestions: To save time during the Build phase, the Design Assistant now analyzes your course content and recommends the most appropriate template, ensuring your visual style matches your subject matter. You can view thumbnails of each slide with the template so you know exactly how your course will look before you build it.
- Auto-storyboard generation: After you finalize your script, the Design Assistant can now automatically generate your storyboard using your selected template, removing manual navigation steps.
Existing courses remain unchanged. A limited set of legacy templates is being migrated into the new system; not all PowerPoint templates will be available in the new Template Manager. If you choose a new template for an existing course, you must regenerate it to see the changes.
This release finds the following enhancements to Course Designer:
-
Configurable question display: For the final course assessment, authors can now configure what percentage of questions from the course assessment pool should be shown to learners. The percentage set gets saved and used by the course players in tracking and scoring. Existing courses retain their existing percentage.
-
Additional resources metadata field: Use this new field to capture one or more resource links that display in the Overview tab of the course player to the learner giving them easier access to supporting materials.
Coming Soon reminders, in case you missed it
The items in this section highlight changes to AI elements in the platform so you can stay in compliance with your internal processes and guidelines.
We are planning to introduce an updated Library experience with the goal of making it easier for learners to find relevant content, navigate more intuitively, and focus on the skills most relevant to them.
Before we reintroduce the new experience, we will provide:
- Preview materials and documentation
- Guidance for communicating changes to learners
When we introduce the new design in the platform, it will become the standard experience. Our goal is to ensure your team has the advance notice, guidance, and support needed to prepare and adopt it successfully. More details to come.
When you allow Skillsoft to collect the learner side of the conversation during a CAISY interaction, you now have the ability to set how long Skillsoft retains that data. When AI optimization and improvements setting is on, by default, Skillsoft retains the data for 180 days. You now have the option to reduce it to 30, 60, or 90 days.
Please note that if you do shorten the retention period, you may limit our ability to improve AI feedback and accuracy and learners only see their conversation history for that retention period.
When learners upload certification files AI will automatically capture certification details and confirm that the uploaded file represents a professional certification, avoiding reliance on manual entry and improving accuracy and consistency at the point of submission.
Learners can review and adjust the extracted information before submitting. This enhancement gives managers and HR greater confidence in the validity of uploaded certifications while ensuring more complete and representative certification reporting.
